To give justice to our new high performance bearings, we had to
design and use a different hub set. Otherwise, it would have been
like driving a Porsche with inexpensive tires.
Our hub set is made to use straight
gauge spokes. The 2mm Sapim CX-Ray spokes are made for Hawk Racing™
and every wheel set sold will come with extra spokes in case you have a problem. Your local bike store will be able to change spokes
if EVER necessary.
The hub is designed so that pre-load
of the bearings in not needed. This means that it is easier to use. The hub
set is maintenance free, since we use Folmer Technology© double
sealed bearings.
Both axles are 15mm for a stiffer wheel set and with 6 pawls in the
back, the free hub engagement is reduced to 7.5º degrees instead of
10° degrees like other high-end hubs.
